Fleet and Maintenance Management

Planning and delivery of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance can make a significant difference to the bottom-line performance of an airline or MRO.

Since 2005, we've worked with the Fleet Services unit of CAS, developing Maintenance Performance Toolbox, an online system that provides operators with up-to-date fleet maintenance information, faciliating efficient airplane-system troubleshooting, structural repair-record management, parts management, task card management, content authoring, and training.

Boeing Vancouver has also assisted CAS in the development of GoldCare maintenance services. This program is for 787 and Next-Generation 737 customers, providing efficient maintenance support for 787 and Next-Generation 737 aircraft to enable customers to focus on other aspects of their operations.

Managing Outsourced Development of SQIS

The Supplier Quality organization of The Boeing Company ensures supply chain compliance and conformance of purchased products and services throughout the product life cycle. To simplify and facilitate that important work, Boeing Vancouver has developed a single, powerful enterprise application called the Supplier Quality Information System (SQIS). The system consolidates the functionality of nearly thirty nonconformance legacy systems and data sources into a single powerful interface, offering significant increases in efficiency for its worldwide user community of Boeing employees and suppliers.

Boeing Vancouver has kept the project on-budget using blended teams that combined the talents of on- and off-shore developers. Development and testing are performed collaboratively with a multi-national offshore IT company well known for high quality off-shore development work. Boeing Vancouver continues to manage the staged development of the project, performing design and business analysis, working closely with the offshore company, who provide additional manpower in all development areas.

Innovations in Digital Aviation

More recently, as a part of Boeing Digital Aviation group, Boeing Vancouver has been a key player in the development of a Digital Aviation cloud-based platform for the delivery of mobile-based maintenance apps that help today's digital airlines run efficiently and profitably. In fact, we're the largest single development site in the Digital Aviation group, and have emerged as an innovator in platform integration.
